Guess That Professor 7

by Athena Mata

You may know your professor’s name, but do you truly know about their life? If you think you do, then take a shot at this edition of Guess That Professor!

This professor teaches in the biology department. They truly care for their students and will do whatever they can to help the students succeed in not only school, but also life. They attended college at Eastern Illinois University for their undergraduate degree, the University of Illinois at Chicago for their master’s degree and they completed their doctoral degree at Rush University. This professor has been teaching for 39 years, and 19 of those have been at Blackburn. Their favorite thing about Blackburn is being able to work closely with the students.

They are from Carlinville, Illinois and their favorite sports team is ‘Da Bears.’ They have one cat, and they like to read and watch movies both equally, but they prefer to read a book, than watch a movie. Their favorite comfort food is ice cream, and their favorite TV show is “Boston Legal.” Their favorite music genre is classic rock, and one of their favorite bands is Chicago.

The most interesting place that they have visited is Stockholm, Sweden, and their favorite quote is “There’s two ways to do things: the right way, and again.” Their favorite excuse for missing homework is when students say that the same family member has passed away multiple times.

If you believe you know who this professor is, you can email us at theburnian@blackburn.edu where we will give a shout-out for the first three correct answers in the next issue of The ‘Burnian.

The professor who was covered in the last edition of the Guess That Professor was Dr. Karen Dillon from the English and Communications department.
