And Your New Resident Assistants Are…

by Elizaveta Wethington

Blackburn has hired three hard working resident assistants that all share the same goal: building Blackburn’s community. The three students who got the jobs are freshman elementary major Brianna Milch, freshman computer science major Dean Odle and sophomore sports management major Samantha Lake.

Milch is the resident assistant on the third floor in Butler. Milch wanted to become more involved in the Blackburn community and thought this was the perfect way to begin. Her hope is to make a safe place for new students and returning students, and she wants everyone to know that they can come to her with anything. Milch said, “Some of the people I have looked up to, most have been resident assistants,” and she hopes she can offer the same feelings to others.

Dean Odle is the resident assistant on the first floor in Butler. Odle stated, “I liked a lot of the RAs. I liked the position they had and wanted to do something similar.” He hopes to make sure everyone is doing well and things are going smoothly for everyone. His goal is to get people out of their rooms and socializing.

Samantha Lake is the new resident assistant in Graham, and she applied for the job because she felt like she had more to offer at Blackburn. She said this job is helping her grow into the leader she wants to be while also helping her learn her strengths and weaknesses. Lake also explained, “I hope to bring the Blackburn community a fresh mind and new ideas. I hope that I contribute to the atmosphere in a new way and bring my happiness and love for whatever I do and make others know that they can also love whatever they do.”

Heads up Blackburn these new RAs are ready to tackle any challenge that comes their way.
